Set amid the peaceful alpine scenery of Pessey in Valtournenche, Chalet Héritage Carrel is an exceptional private retreat where contemporary Italian design, mountain wellness and generations of local heritage come together beneath the Matterhorn.

Sleeping up to six guests across three beautifully appointed suites, this striking 312m² chalet is arranged over four levels and has been designed for guests seeking privacy, space and understated luxury. Large windows draw the surrounding landscape into the interiors, while carefully selected furnishings and natural materials create an elegant yet welcoming atmosphere throughout.

Each of the chalet’s three suites has its own character. The spacious Spring Suite opens directly onto the garden and features a luxurious bathroom with chromotherapy shower, while the light-filled Summer Suite offers flexible twin or double accommodation and a statement Gessi bathtub. The intimate Autumn Suite enjoys wonderful south-facing valley views, making it a serene retreat at the end of the day.

Wellness is at the heart of Héritage Carrel. Outside, guests can unwind in the panoramic Finnish sauna or sink into the outdoor Jacuzzi beneath the Alpine sky. A private Technogym-equipped fitness room provides everything needed for a workout, while yoga sessions and in-suite massages can be arranged for an additional level of relaxation.

Evenings can be spent enjoying a film in the chalet’s impressive private cinema, complete with a large screen and high-end Sonus Faber, REL Acoustics and Marantz sound system, or discovering a bottle from the chalet’s carefully selected wine cellar.

What makes Héritage Carrel particularly distinctive, however, is its connection to the mountains surrounding it. A private photographic exhibition tells the story of the Carrel family and their pioneering relationship with the Matterhorn, while bespoke Essence Carrel bath products, handmade using mountain flowers and herbs, continue this sense of place throughout the chalet.

The location combines tranquillity with excellent access to the mountains. The slopes are approximately 250 metres away, with the lifts of the Matterhorn Ski Paradise around eight minutes away. Transport to and from the Valtournenche ski lifts can also be arranged, allowing guests to enjoy the extensive Cervinia–Zermatt ski area with ease.

With daily housekeeping, breakfast, afternoon tea, evening aperitifs, private chauffeur service and an included dinner prepared by an experienced international chef among the services offered, Héritage Carrel delivers a highly personalised chalet experience.
