Chalet Le 1992
Description
In 2012, we constructed the chalet called “Le 1992” as a tribute to the excitement of the Albertville Winter Olympics Games held in 1992. This event held particular significance for the Courchevel resort and the village of Le Praz, where the thrilling ski jumping events took place.
Ski jumping is an astounding discipline, with jumpers soaring up to 140 meters in front of the awe-inspiring “Tremplins du Praz.” This sport holds a special place in our family history, as Sylvain, one of our own, practiced it for many years under the loving guidance of his grandmother, Mamie Angèle.
Located near the village facilities and the newly built cable car, which grants quick access to Courchevel 1850 in just eight minutes, our modern and authentic mountain chalet promises to charm you with its style and comfort.
The living room is a delightful space to relax and share stories after a fantastic day on the slopes. Combining contemporary style with Savoyard authenticity, the room features a modern sofa, a central fireplace, designer lighting, and natural materials that exude warmth and coziness.
On the uppermost floor, the balcony offers a perfect spot to bask in the sunlight or admire the breathtaking snow-capped mountains.
The open kitchen combines charm and functionality, boasting a magnificent Zimbabwean granite worktop that serves as a beautiful bar area. Here, you can enjoy a delicious coffee from the Jura bean machine or savor excellent wines and champagnes from your cellar.
The dining room, with its large 12-person table, provides an ideal setting for convivial meals while the stunning fireplace crackles gently in the background, creating a cozy ambiance.
The master bedroom, facing south and featuring a balcony, offers a queen-size bed that can be separated into twins, a small desk, and a sofa. The bright bathroom with double basins and a large bathtub provides the perfect space to unwind and relax.
The “L’Eclipse” bedroom, named after the legendary downhill slope in Le Praz, boasts warm tones and comes with a queen bed that can also be converted into twins. The spacious room allows for the addition of a sofa bed or cot if needed, and the functional bathroom is equipped with a walk-in shower and double basin.
Designed with children in mind, the “Plume” bedroom emanates a soft and inviting atmosphere. It features a comfortable bed, ample storage space, and a practical bathroom. The balcony overlooking the valley provides a timeless and picturesque view.
The “Cow” bedroom showcases authentic Savoyard style beneath traditional wooden beams, offering a comforting and cozy atmosphere. The balcony overlooks pastures, providing a beautiful spot to daydream and admire the panoramic scenery.
For larger groups, an additional bedroom is available at the level of the Ski Room. It can be added to “Le 1992” chalet upon availability and offers secure access via the Ski Room.
To ensure your well-being and relaxation, the chalet includes an outdoor wellness area inspired by Scandinavian design, featuring an outdoor sauna and hot tub with breathtaking mountain views.
The Ski Room serves as the meeting point between our chalet “Le 1992” and “Le 1946.” Here, you can wake up to warm, dry ski boots and find your equipment ready for an action-packed day on the slopes. We provide drinks and cereal bars to keep you energized while you make the most of the 600km of slopes in the majestic 3 Valleys ski area. With skis at the ready, it’s time to hit the slopes and enjoy an unforgettable winter experience.
