Horu Lodge

Horu Lodge (with “Horu” being the local dialect for the Matterhorn) is an exceptional luxury residence currently under construction and due for completion at the end of October 2025. Designed by Studio Birk with interiors by Adelene Smith Ng, this striking townhouse blends contemporary architecture with a highly personalised finish, creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity in the exclusive Matterhorn village of Zermatt.

The lodge offers four beautifully appointed king bedrooms, each featuring Vi-Spring beds, Porto Romana lighting, bespoke Robert Langford bedside tables and headboards, and Corston fittings. The box-spring beds can be configured as super-kings or twins, according to preference. Each bedroom also includes handcrafted, built-in birch wardrobes and natural wool carpets with underfloor heating.
Bathrooms are finished with Val-stone floors and tadelakt walls. The master bathrooms feature a bath, separate shower and WC, while the secondary bedrooms each have a private shower room with Cielo sink and cabinet, plus WC.

The lounge is a welcoming and elegant space, complete with an open fireplace, breathtaking Matterhorn views, and south-facing balconies. An OLED TV with soundbar complements the setting, making it ideal for relaxing or entertaining friends and family. Smoked oak herringbone floors by Trunk, bespoke Love You Home sofas, Tom Faulkner consoles and carefully curated designer furnishings combine to create a cosy yet sophisticated atmosphere. Spacious and opulent, the room offers true home-from-home comfort.
The adjoining dining area features a walnut Carl Hansen dining table and chairs, comfortably seating up to 12 guests.

The kitchen is a fully fitted, handmade birch-wood kitchen equipped with premium V-ZUG appliances, including a dishwasher, oven, combi-oven, fridge, freezer, Nespresso machine and wine fridge.

Horu Lodge has been finished to the highest standards to cater for every need. Each floor is accessible via an elegant oak spiral staircase or by lift.

Guests have access to a shared wellness area featuring a swimming pool with swim jet, sauna, steam room, outdoor jacuzzi, and a compact fitness room. A dedicated massage room is also available, where the in-house therapist offers a range of treatments including Swedish massage, Indian head massage, foot or full-body massage, as well as manicures, pedicures and facials.

This exquisite lodge is ideally located just 100 metres from the Klein Matterhorn Express and enjoys spectacular views of the Matterhorn and Höhbalmen.

Below Horu Lodge are the El Alamein and Gerwetsch Suites, which can be booked individually or together, as well as the Tête Blanche Lodge should additional bedrooms be required. These are connected via lift or stairs. The neighbouring building off the same lobby houses two further lodges: Dufourspitz Lodge and Lyskamm Lodge, accommodating 10 and 9 guests respectively.

The village centre is an easy eight-minute walk away, while the Klein Matterhorn lift is just one minute on foot.
